Over the next several weeks, we want to share information with you about Angel Kisses, our mission, and the organizations that we’re focused on helping this year. Each week leading up to our fundraiser on February 20, we’ll be sending out a newsletter focusing on one of these wonderful organizations. This week, we're sharing information about Angels Wings Bereavement Services.
Jennifer Cantrell-SBD Chaplain
Their Purpose: As a bereavement doula, Ms. Cantrell is with families during the birth of their child and is in contact with photographer to provide memories for the family. She provides the local hospitals with clothes, burial gowns, wraps, blankets and hats. Each family is given a custom made memory box. If the stillbirth happens at home, she can transport the baby and family to the hospital. She is available to host memorial services, memorial gatherings, support groups, and one on one meetings with other families.
With the funds that Angels Wings Bereavement Services receives from Angel Kisses this year, they will be able to become a non-profit organization, purchase scrapbook materials for memory boxes, materials to make blankets, order loss pamphlets, create mementos for siblings, and purchases items needed for Perinatal Loss and Remembrance Day.
Please join Angel Kisses at our fundraiser on Saturday, February 20 from 2-8pm at Woody's/Onyx in Royal Oak. The funds we raise this year will go to help Angels Wings Bereavement Services and several other wonderful organizations.
