AK donates $5,400 to St. John’s

Angel Kisses first 5K, Dress like Devils and Run for the Angels was a HUGE success! We exceeded our goal of $5,150 and raised a total of 5,400 to fund the following enhancements for St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit.
- Beautify Room in NICU, that is used as a quite space for families to spend their last moments with a baby that they are taking off support. Enhancements to this room include artwork, love seat, bookcase with doors that can be locked and improved lighting.
- A High quality photo printer and camera, and ink to stock for printing. This camera will be used to take pictures for families of their lost baby.
- Enhance library of books on Loss, this library will have books available to rent out to families who experience a loss.
- Funding for sympathy cards that are sent to families at the 6 month and one year anniversary of the loss and educational programs for nursing staff. ($2000)
Mission
Angel Kisses was founded in 2009 with a dual purpose. First, to help raise awareness and understanding of pregnancy loss in our community. Second, but equally as important, to help bring peace and healing to families who have experienced pregnancy loss by creating an outlet in which families can honor their lost children and give back to the community. We seek to accomplish these endeavors through outreach and fundraising.
